The Shlenker School, a coeducational Jewish day school program for 15 months through 5th grade in Houston, Texas, is committed to educational excellence and dedicated to developing in each student a love of learning and a compassionate participation in their community. Through a strong integrated curriculum in the arts and sciences and Jewish studies, the school encourages curiosity, creativity, respect for others, and leadership skills. Our curriculum is designed to give students the confidence to explore the world around them and to foster critical thinkers within a nurturing environment.
There is no better way to learn about what makes Shlenker unique than to spend time on campus. Come see how our campus enables young children to develop the sense of wonder through our state of the art facilities. Meet our experienced staff that will partner with your family to help nurture your child during these early developmental stages of growth.
The Shlenker School is currently accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year. Our school seeks to enroll children who are a strong match for all of our programs. The admissions process is designed to assess readiness and predict success of applicants. It also gives parents the opportunity to explore our mission and goals.
The admissions office recommends that prospective families submit an application for admission in the fall preceding the year of desired enrollment. For example, if you wish to apply for the 2018-19 school year, the process begins as early as September, 2017, and the application deadline for first-round contracts is March 1st. It is important that families complete and submit an application by the March 1st deadline in order to be considered in the first round of admissions offers. Supplemental admissions materials must be received by March 1st.
The best way to get to know us it to visit us. Come meet the people that make our School so great! Learn about our philosophy and why we have designed such an innovative, integrated curriculum. Shlenker would not be able to ignite each child's spark without our dedicated, nurturing staff. Please join us for a short presentation to learn more about our School and meet the administrators, faculty, and parents. This is targeted at potential applicants of both the Early Childhood program and Elementary School and is for adults only.
We look forward to meeting you.
At The Shlenker School, we provide need-based financial aid to allow attendance by any student who will likely experience success in our programs. Therefore, we make admission decisions before, and separate from, financial aid decisions.
Financial aid is available for families who qualify according to the guidelines and policies approved by the Shlenker Board of Trustees. In processing the application for tuition assistance, the Financial Aid Committee takes into account all information provided and recommendations by our processing service, Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST), which applies the guidelines determined by the Board of Trustees. All information provided in the application is held in strict confidence.
