We hope you all had an easy fast and a meaningful holiday. This time of year reminds us just how fortunate we are to have such a fabulous school filled with wonderful teachers and incredible volunteers. We have gotten off to a great start with such important contributions as apples and honey for Rosh Hashanah, to Challah distribution on Fridays, Spirit Day Mondays with our awesome t-shirts and our amazing Ice Cream Social that kicked off the school year.
We are often asked what the PTO does and how to get involved. Certainly PTO accomplishes a lot through the year. This is all because of our dedicated volunteers; from parents who agree to chair our events, to those who sign up to help, to volunteers in our lunchroom and those that serve with helping hands. We can’t say enough about how much we appreciate your calling Shlenker “home.” Volunteers make our jobs as PTO Presidents so fun because of their enthusiasm and overall dedication to get the job done for our children and our school.
There are so many opportunities to get involved: Carnival, Volunteer Day, Grandparents Days and so much more. Please check your child’s backpack today for gift-wrap and tote bag packets for your holiday pleasure.
We have ignited our spark and we hope you will do the same and get involved to make a difference in our school. We are a community building group and love to see new and old faces, so please do not hesitate to get in touch with one of us at any time with questions, concerns or suggestions.
Be sure to mark your calendars for our spring carnival, Sunday, April 28, 2013. If you have any questions or would like additional information about volunteer opportunities please do not hesitate to ask either of us. You can always reach us at PTO@shlenker.org.
