There are several giving opportunities at The Shlenker School. Whether you are an individual, foundation, corporation or a community partner, the Advancement Team would be happy to help you find the level and fit that suits your needs.
The Shlenker School benefits from the generosity of its parents, alumni, grandparents, staff, and friends. Their gifts, in many forms, help transform our school as we strive to become the best we can be.
For over 25 years, The Shlenker School has provided educational experiences that are among the finest in Houston. Our dedicated and highly trained staff searches for ways to ignite a spark in each of our children. Our innovative programming provides our students with the extra edge needed to excel in their academic careers. Our campus is equipped with the latest in cutting-edge technology and housed in beautiful modern facilities.
These experiences are only partially provided for by the tuition paid by our families. Tuition only covers approximately 82% of our operating costs. The remainder is made up of donations from families, grandparents, alumni, staff, and friends. We will always need to raise funds to ensure that we can continue to provide an excellent educational experience for our children. But we are committed to offering even more, and gifts allow us to enhance programs, technology, and professional development for our employees, resulting in the extraordinary Shlenker education.
The Shlenker Annual Fund is the backbone of fundraising at The Shlenker School. Gifts to the Annual Fund are used each year to enhance and expand programs and opportunities for our students and our faculty and staff. Gifts to Shlenker can be unrestricted- allowing proper stewardship by our administration to direct the funds to the experience considered the highest priority. Or gifts to the Shlenker Annual Fund can be restricted to any area of interest - the arts or sciences, technology or student leadership.

In addition to the Shlenker Annual Fund, donors may fund the school’s endowment through gifts to the Shlenker School Endowment Fund. Several endowment gifts have been made - their purpose is to provide long-term resources that support various components of the school’s mission. Only the income is spent from the endowment - never the principal - so our endowment functions like a savings account for the school.
The Shlenker School values every gift given to the school! One-time gifts, multi-year pledges, gifts of cash and stock, credit card gifts, and planned gifts all make a difference as we work to improve the educational opportunity for all our students.

Are you interested in making a gift to The Shlenker School but feel overwhelmed by the thought of writing another check or giving up assets today? A simple, flexible and versatile way to ensure we can continue to "Ignite a Spark” in our students and faculty for years to come is a gift in your will or living trust, known as a charitable bequest.
