Kindergarten–Second Grade

Discovering New Possibilities

At The Shlenker School, our Kindergarten through Second Grade programs provide a strong foundation in both secular and Jewish learning. Featuring small classes, experienced teachers, and hands-on learning—students build literacy, math fluency, scientific curiosity, and social awareness while experiencing a nurturing, value‑rich environment.

Learning Benchmarks

Key Outcomes

These skills are reinforced by standardized benchmarks such as screeners in reading and math for K–1st—ERB CTP‑V (2nd)—with regular data reviews guiding instruction.

Signature Programs & Projects

Crayon Recycling
Kindergarten

Partnering with Crayola, students learn bal tashchit (not wasting) and environmental stewardship.

Project Linus Blankets

Why Families Love This Stage

At Shlenker, students in Kindergarten through Second Grade grow into academically curious, socially conscious, physically active, and ethically grounded individuals, ready to thrive in Third-Fifth Grade.

Surrounded by experienced teachers who continually refine their practice through professional development, students are empowered to reach their highest potential.
