Toddler Program

Where Curiosity, Connection, and Confidence Begin

At The Shlenker School, our Young Toddler (beginning at 15 months old, or 15 months after turning one by September 1 of that year) and Older Toddler (beginning at 2 years old) programs provide a nurturing environment where our youngest learners begin to explore the world around them with growing independence and joy.

These foundational years are focused on building strong, trusting relationships between children, teachers, and families, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of learning. In our toddler classrooms, children learn through playful exploration that fosters emerging language, social connections, and curiosity. Caring teachers support children through comforting routines while creating joyful moments for discovery, creativity, and hands-on fun.

Key Areas of Focus in our Toddler Program Include:

Developing autonomy, self-regulation, and a growing sense of confidence in their abilities

Building early communication and language skills

Practicing how to interact with peers and manage emotions in appropriate, socially constructive ways

Exploring sensory experiences and hands-on activities that support fine and gross motor development

Enjoying music, movement, and early literacy experiences that foster imagination and joy
